RBS Alumni Association

The Ron Brown Scholar Program helps finance the college educations of outstanding students, but the uniqueness of the Ron Brown Scholar Program lies in the ongoing interactions it fosters among Ron Brown Scholars, throughout the undergraduate years and beyond. The desire on the part of The Pilaro Family, CAP Charitable Foundation, Mr. Mallory, and the Program directors to perpetuate group cohesiveness gave birth to the Ron Brown Scholar Alumni Association (RBSAA), which is now entering its eighth year.

The RBSAA is an incorporated entity with independently-elected officers and funding from its members. It comprises graduates of the RBS Program, as well as mentors and friends. A national conference is held tri-annually, and regional gatherings occur on a more frequent basis.  RBSAA objectives include support of philanthropic and social causes, participation in the Ron Brown Scholar Community Service Foundation, and the promotion of communication and mentorship among Alumni.

The RBSAA, comprising Ron Brown Scholar Program college graduates, RBSAA advisers, and friends, has primary, secondary, and tertiary objectives:
  1. The primary objective of the RBSAA is to support philanthropic and social causes directly related to neither the RBSAA nor the Ron Brown Scholar Program but that nevertheless celebrate kindred ideals;
  2. The secondary objective of the RBSAA is to foster lifelong goodwill among Ron Brown Scholar Program Alumni;
  3. The tertiary objective of the RBSAA is to promote communication and mentorship between RBSAA members and Ron Brown Scholars.
