Ade Sawyer is a communications and public affairs strategist with an interest in renewable energy, sustainability and social justice. An Atlanta native, he was raised with the ethos that “I am because we are,” which continues to shape his commitment to service.
Ade began his career as an intern at Weber Shandwick in Washington D.C., progressing to leadership roles for a range of projects across the public, private and nonprofit sectors. He also developed an expertise in clean energy and sustainability issues as a part of the firm’s Global Energy and Sustainability practice.
In D.C., a fellow Ron Brown Scholar introduced Ade to Higher Achievement – a nonprofit organization that provides an intensive academic enrichment program to put middle school students on the path to college. He volunteered for Higher Achievement for 6+ years, and currently serves on the organization’s national board.
Ade currently lives in the Middle East, working with a leading manufacturer to build capacity within its global communications team. He graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Public Policy and a minor in History, and was a Spring 2016 Fellow with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute in Washington D.C.
