Angela A. Smedley (RBS 2000) is a Litigation Associate at the law firm of Winston & Strawn, LLP, where her primary areas of practice are Sports Litigation and Antitrust Litigation.  She has represented players, agents, and the NFL and NBA players’ unions in numerous grievances and court proceedings, including the Tom Brady “Deflategate” matter of 2015-16. Her pro bono practice has encompassed tuition proceedings on behalf of special needs students, divorce proceedings on behalf of U.S. military veterans, and working with Legal Aid to provide low-income New Yorkers with access to more affordable and effective medical treatments for certain diagnoses.  Earlier in her career, Ms. Smedley worked at the National Basketball Players Association and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable George B. Daniels in the Southern District of New York. 

Ms. Smedley holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review.  She earned an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College.  Ms. Smedley hails from Ann Arbor, MI and currently resides in New York City.
