CONNECTING EXTRAORDINARY TALENT WITH LEADING EMPLOYERS
Each year approximately 5,000 African American high school students compete for the prestigious Ron Brown Scholarship, $40K over four years. Candidates undergo a rigorous screening which involves assessment of their academic achievements, leadership experience, writing skills, commitment to service and financial need. Forty to fifty students will be awarded and named Ron Brown Scholars. The remaining top 2-3% of top applicants (around 150) are awarded the distinction of Captains and selected to join our invitation-only Ron Brown Leaders Network, where they receive personal and professional development services alongside the Scholars.
The Ron Brown Leaders Network provides customized support to Scholars and Captains though an annual Leaders Summit, year-round career development services, and networking opportunities with corporate partners and 3000+ accomplished alumni.

The Ron Brown Scholar Program’s Leaders Network Initiatives are dedicated to empowering the next generation of African American leaders through three key endeavors: the Ron Brown Leaders Summit, the Ron Brown Venture Lab and the Ron Brown STEM Alliance. These initiatives aim to provide Scholars, Captains, and Alumni with the resources and support they need to excel in entrepreneurship and science, fostering a community of innovation, diversity, and excellence.
The Leaders Summit is a transformative gathering that empowers Ron Brown Scholars and Captains with networking opportunities, professional development, and mentorship to inspire leadership and foster excellence across all fields.

VENTURE LAB
The Ron Brown Venture Lab accelerates the growth and impact of Ron Brown Scholars and Captains in the venture ecosystem through education, community, funding, and other resources.
Legal Launch is a multi-day event to support those preparing to attend law school. This program provides participants with the tools to be successful in law school and practical exposure to the legal profession.
The alliance brings together professionals from the worlds of academia, industry, medicine, and government to tackle some of the most intractable problems facing the sciences today.
