Maikha Jean-Baptiste grew up in Miami, FL. She graduated in 2010 with a BA in Black Studies from Amherst College. After graduation, Maïkha decided to immerse herself in and learn about another culture. She moved to Quito, Ecuador where she taught high school English and studied Spanish.
Currently, Maïkha is enrolled at Tufts University School of Medicine. She plans to pursue a dual MD/MPH. She firmly believes that health care should be accessible to everyone and therefore hopes to work in underserved areas both in the states and internationally. In her free time, she enjoys salsa dancing, cooking, laughing with friends and hanging out with her younger siblings.
